Fleener Chimney Area Closed — Due to increased wasp activity the Fleener Chimney is closed effective August 3, 2026, until further notice.
Schonchin Butte Closure — Schonchin Butte Road and Trail are closed to all traffic when the gate is closed, due to maintenance work occurring at the fire lookout. Details ↗
White-Nose Syndrome / Cave Permit — Please Do Not bring clothing or caving gear used in caves or mines outside of Lava Beds into our caves. This will help slow the spread of white-nose syndrome, a bat disease that is killing bats outside of the park. Details ↗
