East Portal Road — Until further notice, East Portal Road and campground are closed due to flood damage.

Fire Operations — Wildfires are occurring in the region. Water scooping airplanes are using the reservoir. Please use caution and stay clear of areas where water scooping operations are occurring.

Introduction

Curecanti National Recreation Area is located in Colorado and offers a mix of outdoor activities and scenic views. Visitors often come to enjoy boating, fishing, and hiking along the Gunnison River and its reservoirs.

The Elk Creek Visitor Center is 15 miles west of Gunnison off Highway 50.
