Introduction

Canaveral National Seashore is a protected area located on a barrier island in Florida, stretching 24 miles along the Central East Coast. It features the longest stretch of undeveloped public beach in the region, attracting visitors for its natural beauty and diverse wildlife. The park offers opportunities for various outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and canoeing, making it a popular spot for nature enthusiasts.

The seashore is also significant for its conservation efforts, particularly regarding sea turtles. During the nesting season, visitors can participate in turtle watch programs, which provide insights into the nesting process and the importance of protecting these creatures. Reservations are required for these programs, which are limited to small groups.
