Park Closure Southern Section of Ocean Path Closed for Repairs

Starting Aug 31, a section of Ocean Path will be closed for repairs from a trailhead across from the Otter Point parking lot to the trail's southern terminus.

Park Closure Schoodic Mountain Road Closed for Repairs

Starting Aug 31, the Schoodic Mountain Road will be closed for repairs from Schoodic Loop Road to the summit of Schoodic Head. Workers will be operating heavy equipment for resurfacing, regrading and ditching.

Caution Avoid Water Contact at Sand Beach Lagoon (Not for Sand Beach)

Bacterial levels have exceeded public health standards at Sand Beach Lagoon and a Public Health Advisory has been posted. The public is advised against swimming at this beach until bacterial levels return to healthful levels. (Not for Sand Beach.)

Things to know

A park entrance pass is required year-round, and vehicles must display the pass clearly visible through the windshield.
Vehicle reservations are necessary to drive Cadillac Summit Road from late-May to mid-October, and these can be purchased online.
All campsite reservations must be made online in advance, as there is no backcountry camping or overnight parking allowed.
Acadia National Park is committed to accessibility for people of all abilities.
Off-season visits from November to April can be enjoyable, with fewer crowds and unique experiences.
Be prepared for quick weather changes, especially on Cadillac Mountain.
Peak season traffic can make driving and parking challenging.
