Introduction

Minuteman Missile National Historic Site in South Dakota preserves the last intact Minuteman II intercontinental ballistic missile system in the United States. This site serves as a reminder of the Cold War era and the nuclear deterrent strategy that shaped U.S. defense policy. Visitors come to learn about the history of nuclear weapons and their impact on global security.

The site includes the Delta-09 Launch Facility, which houses an unarmed missile, and the Delta-01 Launch Control Facility, where missileers once awaited launch commands. The visitor center offers exhibits and a park orientation video to provide context for this significant historical site.

Tickets for the Delta-01 tour can be reserved up to 90 days in advance.
Same-day tickets are not available, especially during summer months.
Dress in layers as temperatures can vary significantly underground.
