Introduction
Mount Rushmore National Memorial features the carved faces of four U.S. Presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. This site attracts over three million visitors annually, who come to reflect on the nation's history and the artistry involved in the sculpture's creation.
The memorial was sculpted between 1927 and 1941 under Gutzon Borglum's direction. Visitors can walk along the Avenue of Flags, enjoy views from the Grand View Terrace, and learn about the memorial's history at the Visitor Center and Museum.
