Introduction
Stones River National Battlefield is a site commemorating the Battle of Stones River, which took place from December 31, 1862, to January 2, 1863. This battle was significant for its high casualty rates and its impact on the Civil War's Western Theater.
Visitors come to reflect on the sacrifices made during the battle and to explore the preserved landscapes, monuments, and visitor center exhibits that provide insights into the events that unfolded here.
