Introduction

Padre Island National Seashore is a protected area along the Texas coast, known for its natural beauty and diverse wildlife. It spans 70 miles and serves as a habitat for endangered species like the Kemp's ridley sea turtle. Visitors come to enjoy the unspoiled beaches and observe various bird species in their natural environment.

The island has a rich history, having been claimed by Spain, Mexico, and the Republic of Texas. Its grasslands were once popular grazing grounds. Today, it remains largely undeveloped, offering a chance to experience a unique coastal ecosystem.
