Cabo San Juan in Tayrona National Park is a stunning mix of golden beaches and lush greenery. The park is full of wildlife and has hiking trails that lead to amazing views of the Caribbean Sea. Villa de Leyva is a colonial town that feels like stepping back in time. The cobblestone streets and whitewashed buildings create a lovely vibe. The main square, Plaza Mayor, is one of the biggest in South America and hosts all sorts of events throughout the year. While the town is beautiful, it can get quite touristy, especially during festivals. Try to visit during the off-peak season for a more laid-back experience. And definitely try the local arepas and the unique desserts made from local fruits.
Sip coffee in Chinchiná
Chinchiná is famous for its coffee plantations, where you can learn all about how coffee is made from bean to cup. Many farms offer tours that include tastings of freshly brewed coffee. The lush green hills around the town make for a beautiful backdrop during your visit. Just keep in mind that some tours can be a bit touristy and might not give you the real experience. Look for smaller, family-run farms for a more authentic taste of Colombia's coffee culture. The best time to visit is during the harvest season from October to March.
