history_eduHistoryexpand_more

Traben-Trarbach was formed in 1904 from two separate villages on either side of the Mosel River. The town grew significantly in the 19th century, becoming a major center for wine trading, second only to Bordeaux at the time. The town suffered from devastating fires, particularly in 1857, which destroyed much of its medieval architecture. However, it was rebuilt in the latest styles, with many buildings designed by architect Bruno Möhring, showcasing the town's resilience and commitment to preserving its heritage.
